The Macon is a three-story walk-up at 117 Macon St, built in 1901 within Bedford-Stuyvesant's Stuyvesant Heights historic district. With only three apartments, one per floor, it lives like a house that happens to have neighbors. The building is pet-friendly and offers a shared laundry room, a bike storage room, smart package lockers and a virtual doorman intercom. The homes are generous by Brooklyn standards: two two-bedrooms of 805 and 850 square feet, and a 1,135-square-foot three-bedroom with one and a half baths and an in-unit washer and dryer. All three keep a decorative fireplace mantel, exposed brick, original hardwood floors, tall east-facing windows and a subway-tile bath. Macon Street sits among Bed-Stuy's landmarked brownstone blocks, with Herbert Von King Park and the cafés and restaurants of Lewis and Tompkins Avenues in the surrounding streets. Corto is a 3-minute walk, Peaches HotHouse 4 minutes, and Restoration Plaza about 9. For the subway, Kingston-Throop Avs on the C is a 7-minute walk and Nostrand Av about 12, with the G at Bedford-Nostrand Avs and the J/Z at Halsey St as further options.
