About the property
Riverside Heights is a five-story walk-up at 601 W 163rd St, built in 1915 and home to twelve apartments, with glimpses of the Hudson River. Corbel & Stoop runs the building with a live-in superintendent, smart package lockers, a bike storage room and private storage cages, and cats and dogs are welcome.
The homes keep their prewar character: original hardwood floors, exposed brick, tall windows and subway-tile baths, and half the homes keep a decorative fireplace mantel. The mix is broad, from studios and one-bedrooms to two-bedrooms and three-bedrooms with one and a half baths and in-unit washers and dryers. Every home has a gas range, and the one-bedroom and larger homes add a dishwasher. Apartments face east, west or the street. This corner of Washington Heights sits between Riverside Drive's Hudson River views and the busy food scene along Broadway and St. Nicholas Avenue, with Fort Tryon Park and the Cloisters to the north. The 168 St station, with the A and the 1, is a 1-minute walk. Key Food Supermarkets is 2 minutes away, Elsa La Reina Del Chicharron and Starbucks Coffee Company are about 3, and Columbia University School of Nursing is a 4-minute walk. The 1 also stops at 157 St, and the A at 175 St and 181 St.

Responsive super, clean hallways and a beautiful two-bedroom with exposed brick. Close to the trains and everything I need on Broadway.

Solid prewar building with good bones. Bike room keeps my bike out of the apartment. Top-floor walk-up isn't for everyone, but the privacy is worth it to me.

I love catching a glimpse of the Hudson on the walk home. My dog loves the walks to Riverside Drive. Leasing was clear and quick.

Apartment is nice and the location is excellent, but without laundry in my one-bedroom I'm making trips out each week. Maintenance responds reliably, which I appreciate.

Cute studio with a fireplace mantel and afternoon sun. The storage cage is great for a small apartment. Package lockers work every time.

Great block, great food all around. I can be at Key Food in two minutes and the chicharron place around the corner is dangerous. The building is well run.

We moved into a three-bedroom with in-unit laundry, which was the dealbreaker for us. Plenty of space, nice mantel, good light. Fourth floor is a workout with groceries.

One minute to the A train. I cannot overstate how much that changes my day. The apartment has original floors and brick and the super is always around if something comes up.
