About the property
The Columbus is a 20-story high-rise at 101 W 87th St, completed in 2016 and home to 112 rentals one block from Central Park. A 24-hour doorman handles the front door, and the amenity floors run deep: a fitness center with a separate yoga and spin studio, an indoor saltwater pool, a screening room, coworking suites, a
residents' lounge and a furnished rooftop terrace with grilling stations. There is also a children's playroom, a pet spa, an attended parking garage with EV charging, and a cold-storage package room alongside smart lockers. Inside, Corbel & Stoop offers six layouts, from studios and one-bedrooms to a one-bedroom with a home office, two-bedrooms, corner two-bedrooms and three-bedrooms. Every home is finished to the same standard: floor-to-ceiling windows with motorized shades, Italian cabinetry, integrated appliances and marble baths. Washers and dryers are in every unit, central air keeps things even year-round, and keyless smart locks or walk-in closets appear across most plans. The block sits between Central Park and Riverside Park, surrounded by brownstone side streets. The American Museum of Natural History is a 2-minute walk, Shake Shack is 3 minutes away, and Levain Bakery and Pioneer Supermarket are each about 7 minutes on foot. Lincoln Center is within walking distance too. For the subway, the B and C stop at 81 St-Museum of Natural History is a 5-minute walk, the 1 runs from 79 St and 86 St, and the 2 and 3 are down at 72 St.

Corner unit with skyline views on a high floor. Sunsets through the windows are stunning. The resident app makes booking the rooftop or reporting a repair simple. I would like more bike storage racks, but otherwise very happy here.

The playroom is bright and well kept, the staff is friendly, and Levain is a short walk when the craving hits. We have had zero issues with the in-unit laundry or the central air through a hot July.

Our dog loves the pet spa more than we do. The courtyard is pleasant and the screening room is a fun spot for a movie night with friends. Pricing is what you would expect for the area, but the finishes hold up.

I work from home three days a week and the coworking suites downstairs are quiet, well lit and never feel cramped. My office nook upstairs is great too. Having the B and C a few minutes away makes the other two days easy.

Nice building and a great location by the museum, but the elevators were slow during the week a lot of people were moving in. Maintenance did fix a dishwasher issue within a day, which I appreciated. Overall decent, a few growing pains.

Moved here from a walk-up and the cold-storage package room alone changed my life. Groceries delivered while I am at work just wait for me. Rooftop on a summer night with the grills going is hard to beat.

The saltwater pool is the real reason I signed. It is rarely crowded on weekday evenings and the water is kept warm. Only knock is that the gym gets busy around 7 a.m., but the spin studio next door usually has an open bike.

I walk into Central Park almost every morning, and it takes me about two minutes to get there. The apartment itself has huge windows and the motorized shades are something I did not know I needed. The doormen know everyone by name.
