About the property

Life at The Lenox

The Lenox is a three-story walk-up at 37 W 130th St, built in 1899 and divided into only four homes. That makes for an intimate building, and Corbel & Stoop still provides a live-in superintendent, a shared laundry room, a bike storage room, smart package lockers and a virtual doorman intercom.

Cats and dogs are welcome. The apartments are large by Manhattan standards. Three of them are three-bedrooms of 1,025 to 1,120 square feet, and the fourth is a two-bedroom duplex with private outdoor space. Every home has one and a half baths, an in-unit washer and dryer and a dishwasher, along with prewar details: original hardwood floors, exposed brick, tall windows and subway-tile baths, and three of the four keep a decorative fireplace mantel. West 130th Street is a short walk from Marcus Garvey Park and Mount Morris, with the Apollo and 125th Street just to the south and Strivers' Row's brownstone blocks to the northwest. Jacob Soul Food Restaurant is 2 minutes away, 787 Coffee and Pioneer Supermarkets of Harlem are each about 3, and Shrine is a 7-minute walk. At 125 St, the 2 and 3, the A, B, C and D, and the 4, 5 and 6 all stop within reach.

Top-floor three-bedroom with morning sun and no one above us. Two flights is nothing. Coffee and groceries are both a few minutes from the door.

Virtual intercom and package lockers mean I never miss a delivery. The bike room is a nice bonus. Living here has been easy from day one.

Huge apartment with a layout that uses every foot, but the bathrooms show their age compared to the rest of the home. Management was helpful when I raised it.

Marcus Garvey Park is our backyard. The apartment is spacious, the brick and original floors are beautiful, and the trains at 125th are an easy walk.

We have the duplex and the outdoor space gets great afternoon sun. The super lives on site and is very responsive. Stairs inside the unit took a little getting used to.

Three bedrooms, a washer and dryer, and a fireplace mantel. Honestly hard to believe in Manhattan. Only four apartments, so the building feels more like a house than an apartment block.
