About the property
Fort Tryon Flats is a five-story walk-up at 561 W 178th St, built in 1922 and holding ten apartments, two per floor. Corbel & Stoop has kept the building simple and practical, with smart package lockers, a bike storage room and a virtual doorman intercom for visitors and deliveries. Cats and dogs are welcome.
Every home has been renovated in a modern style, with wide-plank white oak floors, quartz counters, stainless appliances, recessed lighting and glass-enclosed showers. The layout is consistent: east-facing two-bedrooms and west-facing one-bedrooms on each floor, all with a gas range, a dishwasher and ceiling fans. Choose a lower floor for convenience or a higher one for more privacy and light. Upper Washington Heights puts Fort Tryon Park and the Cloisters within reach to the north, Riverside Drive's Hudson River views to the west, and a lively Dominican food scene along Broadway and St. Nicholas Avenue. Key Food Supermarkets is a 2-minute walk, Elsa La Reina Del Chicharron is 3 minutes away, and Dallas BBQ Washington Heights is about 5. The A stops at 175 St and 181 St, and the 1 runs at 157 St and 168 St.

Clean, modern apartment in a classic building, with the A train close by. Easy application process and a fair, friendly leasing team.

My dog and I love being close to Fort Tryon Park. The two-bedroom has room for a home office and the morning light is great. Leasing went smoothly.

Great food on Broadway and groceries two minutes away. The renovation feels solid and the glass shower is a nice upgrade from my last place.

Apartment itself is lovely, but five flights is a lot on a daily basis. If you don't mind stairs, the top floor is bright and private. Management has been responsive.

I keep my bike in the storage room and ride along the river most mornings. Package lockers mean my deliveries are never left in the hallway. Really happy here.

Bright west-facing one-bedroom with nice finishes. Virtual intercom makes letting in friends easy. Laundry means a trip out of the building, which is the main downside.

Beautifully renovated two-bedroom. The quartz counters and dishwasher make cooking a pleasure, and the oak floors look great. Fort Tryon Park on weekends is a big perk.
