About the property

Life at The Tenth

The Tenth stands at 325 E 10th St, a five-story walk-up from 1905 facing Tompkins Square Park. Its 12 apartments sit behind a prewar front, and while there is no elevator or doorman, the building covers the essentials: a live-in superintendent, a laundry room, a bike storage room and smart package lockers.

Cats and dogs are welcome. Every home has been renovated with wide-plank white oak floors, quartz counters, stainless appliances with gas ranges, recessed lighting and glass-enclosed showers. The Tenth offers four layouts: studios, one-bedrooms, One Bedroom Flex homes with a home office nook, and two-bedrooms, from 390 to 765 square feet. Homes on the East 10th Street side look toward the park. Tompkins Square Park is the neighborhood's backyard, and the community gardens on Avenues B and C, St. Marks Place and a deep bench of cheap eats and cocktail bars are all close. Kazuza is a 4-minute walk, Fox and Jane is 6, Key Food Urban Marketplace is 7 and Momofuku Noodle Bar is 9. The L at 1 Av is about 10 minutes on foot, and the 6 at Astor Pl and F at 2 Av are also nearby.

Second year here. The building is kept clean, the laundry machines are always working, and having Momofuku and Kazuza nearby means I barely cook on Fridays.

Nice one-bedroom on the west side, afternoon sun and solid finishes. The walk to the L at First Avenue is about ten minutes, so I sometimes use the 6 at Astor instead.

Top-floor studio, small but very bright, and no one above me. My dog loves being across from the park. Leasing walked me through every fee up front, which I appreciated.

Apartment is great, but the park side picks up noise on summer weekends and during events. That's the trade for the view. Heat and hot water have been consistent all winter.

Fourth-floor two-bedroom, lots of morning light. Three flights with groceries is real, so I do smaller runs to Key Food. The super is responsive and the package lockers are reliable.

The flex layout is the reason I signed. My desk lives in the nook and the bedroom is just a bedroom. Quartz counters, a real gas range and a dishwasher in the East Village is not something I take for granted.

Looking out at Tompkins from my living room still feels unreal. The renovation is clean and modern without losing the feel of an old building. Laundry room and bike room both save me a lot of hassle.
