Residents have smart package lockers for deliveries, a bike storage room and private storage cages, and cats and dogs are welcome. The apartments are classic prewar homes: original hardwood floors, exposed brick, tall windows and subway-tile baths, with decorative fireplace mantels in two of them. Every home has a kitchen with a gas range and dishwasher, plus ceiling fans. One-bedrooms of 570 to 640 square feet line the east side, and two-bedrooms of 750 to 805 square feet face west, with a single one-bedroom alone on the top floor. The East Village surrounds the building with Tompkins Square Park, the community gardens on Avenues B and C, St. Marks Place and some of the city's best cheap eats and cocktail bars. Kazuza is a 4-minute walk, Fox and Jane is 6, Key Food Urban Marketplace is 7 and Clinton St. Baking Company is 8. The L at 1 Av is about 10 minutes away, and the 6 at Astor Pl and the F at 2 Av are also within reach.

Solid prewar one-bedroom with tall windows and a lot of character. Laundry depends on your unit, so ask about it during the tour. Kazuza a few minutes away is a nice bonus.

Ground-floor two-bedroom, which made moving in painless. The package lockers are reliable and Key Food is close for groceries. My cat spends all afternoon in the west window.

Great apartment and great neighborhood. With no super living on site, a repair took a few days longer than I would have liked. It was done well once someone came out.

Top floor one-bedroom, alone on the landing, and the morning light is lovely. Three flights is fine once you get used to it. Bike room means my bike isn't in the hallway.

Got the two-bedroom with the fireplace mantel and it is the best feature of the place. The kitchen has a dishwasher, which I didn't expect in a building from 1899. The walk to the L is about ten minutes.

Seven apartments, so the building feels personal. The exposed brick and original floors are in great shape. Storage cage downstairs is a huge help in a Manhattan one-bedroom.
