About the property
Clinton Street House is a four-story walk-up at 53 Clinton St on the Lower East Side, built in 1910 and home to 8 apartments. There is no elevator or doorman, but a live-in superintendent looks after the building, and residents share a laundry room, smart package lockers and private storage cages.
Cats and dogs are welcome. The apartments keep their prewar details. Original hardwood floors, exposed brick, tall windows and subway-tile baths are in every home, and several have a decorative fireplace mantel. Every kitchen has a gas range and dishwasher. The mix includes one-bedrooms of 525 to 565 square feet, One Bedroom Flex homes with a home office nook from 655 to 690, and two two-bedrooms of 730 and 745. The Lower East Side's history runs from the Tenement Museum to Essex Market, and Orchard, Ludlow and Rivington Streets fill with galleries and late-night spots. Clinton St. Baking Company is a 2-minute walk, Shampoo Avenue B is 3, Essex and Beauty & Essex are 4, and Union Market is 5. The F, J, M and Z at Delancey St-Essex St are about 5 minutes away, the F at 2 Av is 9, and the B and D stop at Grand St.

Charming one-bedroom with a decorative mantel and tall windows. The kitchen is compact but has a dishwasher and gas range. Leasing was clear about all fees and the pet policy from the start.

Top-floor flex apartment, the largest in the building, with sunset light out the west windows. Three flights is no problem. My dog loves the walks around the neighborhood.

Love the apartment and the neighborhood. The laundry room got busy on Sunday mornings, and one machine was out for a stretch. It's been repaired, but timing laundry takes some planning.

Small building, only eight apartments, with a lot of care put into it. Package lockers have never failed me. Clinton St. Baking Company two minutes away is a weekend ritual now.

Two-bedroom with plenty of light and a layout that works. Only two flights up. The super is responsive and the building is kept clean. Delancey station being five minutes away makes commuting easy.

The flex layout with the office nook fits the way I work. Exposed brick, a fireplace mantel and original floors give the place so much character. Laundry room in the building is a big plus on the Lower East Side.
