About the property
Greene & Irving is a four-story prewar walk-up at 1138 Greene Ave, on a residential Bushwick block. Built in 1908, it holds eight apartments and keeps the details that made buildings of that era worth living in.
A live-in superintendent, smart package lockers, a laundry room, a bike storage room and private storage cages make day-to-day life easier, and pets are welcome. For a building of eight homes, the unit mix is unusually wide: studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms and three-bedrooms. Every home has original hardwood floors, exposed brick, a subway-tile bath and tall windows, and several keep a decorative fireplace mantel. The two three-bedroom homes add an in-unit washer and dryer and a half bath. Around the building, Bushwick is street murals, artist studios and coffee roasters, with late-night bars toward Jefferson Street. L Train Vintage is a 3-minute walk, Knickerbocker Bagel about 7 minutes, and Maria Hernandez Park around 9. For the subway, the L stops at Jefferson St and DeKalb Av, the J/M/Z at Myrtle Av, and Kosciuszko St station is a 10-minute walk.

Solid building with a lot of charm. Storage cages in the basement are handy for luggage. Heat and hot water have been consistent. Would like a quicker turnaround on non-urgent requests, but overall a good place to live.

Moved here with two cats and the process was easy. Corbel & Stoop answered every question during the application, and move-in day went smoothly. The tall windows give my place more light than I expected.

Our two-bedroom is bright and the ceiling fans keep it comfortable in summer. Laundry room downstairs is clean and rarely crowded. Plenty of good coffee and bagels a few minutes away.

Bike storage room is a huge plus. I ride every day and not having to carry my bike up the stairs makes a real difference. Package lockers work well too. Great value for a prewar building in Bushwick.

Love the character of the building and the location near the L. My studio is small, as expected, and the old windows let in some street noise. Maintenance came quickly when the radiator was clanking, which I appreciated.

We have one of the three-bedrooms and the washer and dryer inside the unit is a game changer. The half bath helps a lot in the mornings. Stairs to the upper floors are a workout, but we knew that going in.

The exposed brick and the old fireplace mantel sold me the minute I walked into my one-bedroom. It feels like a real Brooklyn apartment, not a gut job. The super is friendly and around when you need him.
