About the property
Sterling Place is a five-story prewar walk-up at 787 Sterling Pl in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Built in 1916, it holds twelve apartments, with three homes on each of the first two floors and two on each floor above.
Smart package lockers, private storage cages and a virtual doorman intercom handle the practical side, and pets are welcome. The mix runs from studios to three-bedrooms, and the prewar character is consistent throughout: original hardwood floors, exposed brick, tall windows and subway-tile baths. Several homes keep a decorative fireplace mantel, and the three-bedrooms add one and a half baths and an in-unit washer and dryer. The C-line homes on the lower floors face Sterling Place itself. The surrounding blocks are classic Crown Heights, wide and prewar, running down to Eastern Parkway with Franklin Avenue's restaurants and the Brooklyn Museum and Botanic Garden nearby. Urban Market by Key Food and Peppa's Jerk Chicken are each a 3-minute walk, and the Brooklyn Children's Museum about 4. The 2/3/4/5 stop at Franklin Av, the S at Park Pl and the A/C at Nostrand Av.

Fourth-floor three-bedroom with morning light, brick and a mantel. Laundry inside the apartment makes upper-floor living easy. Management answers messages quickly.

Brought my dog and the pet policy was easy. Plenty of space for walks on the surrounding blocks. One-bedroom has a dishwasher, which was a must for me.

Our street-facing two-bedroom has gorgeous tall windows and the fireplace mantel is the centerpiece of the living room. Lots of great food on Franklin Avenue. Very happy with Corbel & Stoop.

Good value for the space. The storage cage in the basement holds our bikes and suitcases. Virtual intercom works well. Some minor repairs took a few days, but they were done right.

Fifth floor is a lot of stairs, no way around it. The apartment itself is lovely, with real prewar details. Package lockers make deliveries much less stressful at the top of the building.

We rent a three-bedroom and the in-unit washer and dryer is a must for us. The half bath helps. It's a big building for a walk-up, but the stairwell is kept clean.

My studio has a fireplace mantel and a brick wall, and every friend who visits is jealous. Tall windows let in a ton of light. Key Food three minutes away is incredibly convenient.
